It was a moment of sadness and tears as the
remains of Mr. Marquis Olatunji, an officer of the Nigeria Security and
Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) attached to the Ooni f Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi,
were buried in Osogbo on Monday, just as family members, friends and
colleagues gathered to pay him last respect
His corpse was interred at Oke Ayepe area of Osogbo around 12.45 p.m.,shortly after a service conducted by Rev. D.D. Olaonipekun, of the Foursquare Gospel Church at the graveside.
Earlier, the coffin bearing his remans was conveyed to the NSCDC headquarters along Ilesa Road, Osogbo for a brief lying-in- state, where a parade of honour was held for Olatunji, who was shot to death at his duty post on February 7, 2016 by some gunmen.
In his sermon during the service held
at the headquarters of the NSCDC in Osogbo, the clergy tasked people to be
conscious of death as the inevitable end of all mortals.
According to Olaonipekun, "death is the ultimate end of every mortal man. We all must be ready to give an account of how we spent our lives here on earth one day."
