Stephanie Okereke drags Liz Benson back to Nollywood

For ardent Nollywood fans who grew up in the late 90s while watching star acts like Liz Benson, we say there is good news as the actress who left the scene for the pulpit is set to feature in a new movie.
The movie which is entitled ‘DRY’ was written and produced by Stephanie Okereke and is set to be released in the cinemas next week.
According to Nollywood actress, Stephanie, the movie is one which journeys into heart-wrenching details of a culture not too many films dare to explore. It is about a 60-year old man who married a child bride, it also shows us what goes on in the minds of men who marry child brides,”she said.

AFRIMMA awards unveil 2015 nominees

Celebrating African music and heritage , the second edition of the annual African Muzik Magazine Awards AFRIMMA is set to take place on October 10, 2015 at the Black Academy of Arts and Letters, Dallas.
The highly anticipated nominees list has finally been unveiled setting the tone for the countdown to the Award show in October.
AFRIMMA is a highly anticipated award show celebrating the beauty  of African music and artistry with many of the biggest names on the African music roster already confirmed for this year’s edition which promises to be a grand occasion.  The award show will honour some of the world’s top African musical artistes, producers and cultural influencers. The star- studded event will attract guests from all over Africa and other cities throughout the United States as well as guests and honorees from various African countries.
Davido, Olamide, Wizkid, Flavor and Sarkodie from Ghana,  top the nominees list for the award of the Best Male West Africa, while for the Best Female act, Yemi Alade, Efya, (Ghana), and Tiwa Savage are nominated.
Other nominees include, for the best female from East Africa include  hadija Kopa (Tanzania),  Aster Aweke (Ethiopia), Victoria Kimani (Kenya), while musicians nominated from Central Africa include, Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Yuri Da Cunha (Angola), Fabregas (Congo), Nelson Freitas (Cape Verde)
