It was a gale of fire incidents in many parts of Lagos State, on Sunday, as a market in Ejigbo, a students hostel in Akoka, a satellite campus of the Lagos State University and houses and shops in some parts of the state went up in flames.
Operatives of the state fire service responded to over 25 fire calls between Saturday morning and Sunday night.
Millions of naira worth of goods and property were reportedly destroyed and many residents rendered homeless but no life was lost.
Residents of Mafoluku area of Oshodi had to attend to two separate fire incidents while residents of Egbeda, Ikorodu and Ikeja also had their fair share of the fire incidents.
The director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe, decried the high rate of fire incidents in recent time and warned residents to be cautious.
The Lagos State Fire Service boss also told Tribune Online that operatives of the agency attended to at least 17 fire calls on Sunday alone.

More than six apartments in the building were destroyed as fire fighters, who arrived at the scene, met the fire burning.
The Mafoluku Oshodi inferno was said to have started due to high voltage from one of the affected buildings.
Residents of Mafoluku were still groaning over the Sadiku incident when another building at 27, Olowu Street, also went up in flames.
Three shops were burnt as fire ravaged a building beside the Bible College at Awolowo Road, Oke Ota Ona Ikorodu.
Fadipe confirmed all the incidents and added that operatives of the agency had the same time on Saturday attended to a fire incident at the Ejigbo Market.
A hotel at Okunola Street in Egbeda area of Lagos State was also in the early hours of Monday gutted by fire.
The Emirate Hostel in front of the University of Lagos gate was also engulfed in another incident.
